Nebraska PBL’s 2017-2018
State Officer Team!
Scott Riley, a Business Administration-Management major at Peru State College, is your 2017-2018 State President. Within his last year at Peru, he is also pursuing a minor in CMIS and can’t wait to see where his degree will take him in the future. He is an active member on his college campus within his local PBL chapter. Aside from his obligations at Peru, he can speak Spanish due to learning a majority of the language at his current job being a waitor at the Mexican Restaurant in Auburn. Scott also served as a Junior Town Counselor (2015) and Senior Town Counselor (2016) for the American Legion Auxiliary Cornhusker Boy’s State. In addition, he is an Eagle Scout and an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 321 out of Auburn, NE. This year, he accepted the position of Mountain Plains Vice-President on the national officer team.
Scott looks forward to interacting with new and current members of Nebraska PBL this coming year. This includes reactivating new chapters and increasing business partnerships.
Taylor Stettner, your 2017-2018 State Vice President of Membership, is a returning sophomore from McCook Community College. She is majoring in Business Administration, with emphasis in Business Entrepreneurship as well as Business Office Technology. Taylor started getting involved in Phi Beta Lambda her freshman year when she was elected as the Vice President of Finance for her local chapter. Since then she has continued her officer responsibilities, helped her chapter with a number of local events, received a certificate in leadership, and has attended various state and national conferences.
In addition to PBL, Taylor also played a huge part in her high school FFA chapter where she was a chapter officer for three years. During her sophomore and junior years, she served as the Reporter and then Vice President her senior year. She also attended Cornhusker Girls State and Nebraska Junior Law Cadet. She enjoys taking her puppy for walks, playing softball, helping those in need, and meeting new people.
Taylor looks forward to having an impact on others while working with this year’s State Officer team to accomplish their state PBL goals. She also looks forward to making many new friends. If you have any questions on recruitment or how to retain members, do not hesitate to contact Taylor!
Anna Watts, a student at Midland University, is your 2017-2018 Vice President of Communications. After high school, Anna attended Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte for two years. She graduated in May 2016 with an Associate in Arts and Accounting Certificate. She then transferred to Midland University in August 2016 where she is pursuing her Bachelors degree in hopes of obtaining her CPA certification.
Anna has been an active member of PBL throughout her college experience. She was a member of the North Platte PBL chapter, serving as Treasurer then Secretary during those years. This year she is the Executive Vice President for Midland’s PBL chapter. Anna can’t wait to help you Elevate Your Future through Nebraska PBL.
Danielle Martin, a sophomore at Midland University majoring in Business with a focus in Accounting, is your 2017-2018 Vice-president of Finance. This is Danielle’s second year in PBL and she has become an active member in her chapter. Danielle first joined PBL to help the community, get involved with campus activities, and network with other PBL members.
Danielle is also involved in Phi Omega Sorority, the Food Committee, and the Women’s Tennis Team on her campus. She even works in the Student Billing Office on campus. In her free time, you can find her hanging out with her sister, hitting the tennis ball, or any activities that take place outside. Danielle looks forward to serving as Vice President of Finance this year. Some of her goals are to add more business partnerships, make changes to the raffles, and to start new fundraisers. Kendra Alberts, a Special Education major at Peru State College, is your 2017-2018 State Assistant Vice-President. Not only is she an active member of her local PBL chapter, she is the leader of AIM through Nebraska Lutheran Ministry.
She was a member of FBLA-PBL for four years and has chosen to continue at the PBL level in order to network and connect with other members. She has always been passionate about helping others grow as successful individuals capable of achieving their dreams. For this reason, Kendra currently works at Kids of His Kingdom daycare and substitute teachers at Nebraska City Public Schools in order to help pursue her future goal of teaching children with emotional disturbance. This year, she accepted the job of Assistant Volleyball Coach at Johnson-Brock Public School. In her free time she enjoys playing basketball, participating in shooting sports, and going swimming.
Kendra looks forward to transforming the current website and finding ways to use technology to inform members of upcoming events and deadlines.
Brad Wessels, a returning sophomore at McCook community college, is your 2017-2018 Vice President of Public Relations. He is currently majoring in Business Administration, Marketing and Non-Profit, while also earning a leadership certificate. Brad has been involved with PBL since his freshman year. During this time, he served as public relations officer for his chapter. In high school, Brad wasn’t given the opportunity to participate in FBLA because it wasn’t a program offered. Instead, he was active in Future Farmers of America (FFA) for all four years.
Brad is also an Eagle Scout where, over time, he has been able to display his leadership
skills. He currently works at the Cambridge Supermarket. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, playing fetch with his dogs, and binge watching Netflix. This year his goals are to keep a positive reflection of Nebraska PBL, to have a 15% increase in active members, and get over 425 followers/likes on social media.
Abi Sheen is excited to be serving on this year’s state officer team as the Assistant VP. Abi is a sophomore attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney and is studying Business Education. She got involved in PBL when she transferred to UNK during her freshman year after learning about it through her connections with FBLA. Abi was an active member with FBLA in high school and even held a State Officer position and two National Council positions. Along with this, she won multiple state and national awards. She is thrilled to continue her involvement as a State Officer for Nebraska PBL this year.
Abi is also involved in the music department at UNK and volunteers at the World Theatre and Adopt-A-Highway regularly. She enjoys reading, listening to jazz music, and spending time with kids. Abi is excited to work with the entire Nebraska PBL delegation and encourages you to contact her.
